Jana Brigman of Gamaliel pled guilty to a number of charges that have been filed against her in the past two years and was sentenced to 10 years probation and 90 days in one of the Community Corrections Centers in the state during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Judge Gordon Webb also ordered Brigman into the 14th Judicial District Drug Court Program

The 49-year-old Brigman’s charges includepossessing drugs and drug paraphernalia, along with public intoxication and stealing power from an electric utility.

The earliest case for which Brigman entered her guilty plea stemmed from her arrest September 22nd 2015 when she was found passed out in a vehicle parked at a local restaurant. When police were able to get Brigman’s attention they described her as “disoriented”. She was sitting in the car with the door open and one leg outside the vehicle.

According to the Mountain Home Police Department report, officers found a syringe, digital scales, a glass smoking pipe, two pills identified as Vicodin and two plastic bags containing a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Another arrest came in early September last year when a pick-up order was issued for Brigman on a bond revocation. When officers were taking Brigman and a male companion, Scott Froit, into custody, they noticed that Brigman removed a white package from her pants pocket and attempted to conceal it. According to court records, Brigman attempted to throw the package away, but officers stopped her and recovered the package that allegedly contained .25 grams of methamphetamine.

Brigman was arrested again in early September of last year when Ian Trice, the owner of property known as the Buzzard Roost Inn and an inmate in the Baxter County jail, reported that Brigman, Froit and another man were stayingin a camper on his property without permission.

Officers found Brigman and Froit living inside the camper trailer on the property. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were also found. While the electricity had been shut off to the main building on the property, the camper had power. Officers found that the meter and wiring had been tampered with and that electricity was being stolen from North Arkansas Electric Cooperative.

In late September last year, the building that once housed the Buzzard Roost Inn that had been the center of a significant amount of alleged criminal activity involving Brigman and others was reported to be ablaze. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the building was fully engulfed in flames. It was a total loss.
