Melbourne man faces accusation of Medicaid fraud

     The arrest of an Izard County man was announced Friday by the Arkansas Attorney General's Office. According to Leslie Rutledge, 51-year-old Clifton Davis of Melbourne was booked into the Izard County Detention Facility on a Class B felony count of Medicaid fraud.
     Davis is accused of signing billing documents for care provided by his wife, 59-year-old Anna Moore, totaling more than $10,000. Individuals are not allowed to charge Medicaid for providign care to their spouses. Moore was arrested during the summer on similar charges and pleaded not guilty in September, and an omnibus hear is scheduled for January.
     Rutledge says the case was referred to her office by the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General.
