The Harrison School Board has selected McPherson and Jacobson, a search consulting firm from Omaha, to find a new superintendent to replace Mendy Moss, who has accepted a position in Joplin. Her last day as Harrison’s superintendent of schools is March 31.

After a recent three hour special meeting of the board, McPherson and Jacobson was unanimously selected for the search for a fee not to exceed $15,000. The firm said if the superintendent candidate found by them did not remain in the position for at least two years, the firm would conduct another search at no cost.

The search for a new superintendent will be lead by Keith Williams of Beebe. A superintendent in Beebe for 10 years and three years in Bald Knob, Williams also served as assistant superintendent in Wynn. A former biology teacher and coach, he served 10 years on the Bald Knob board of education and currently teaches part-time at Harding University.

The firm of McPherson and Jacobson employees 110 consultants and has conducted over 650 searches in 35 states since 1991.
