Ashley Sallee of Cotter entered a guilty plea to a number of charges against her in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and was given 10 years probation.

The 20-year-old Sallee admitted to her part in an attack on a victim after allegedly derogatory comments were posted on social media about another person who participated in the altercation.

Sallee and Katlyn Marler of Gassville had both gone to the home of a young woman on August 8th last year, entered the home and then went to the bedroom of the victim who was related to Marler. The parents of the victim reported that Marler and Sallee had pulled their daughter out of her bedroom and into the front yard where they began to hit the victim in the face and on the head until the father of the victim broke up the fight and the mother called 911 and sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the residence.

Marler told deputies that she had come to the home of her cousin to “work out some issues” having to do with what were referred to as “rude” postings on social media. She said her aunt let Marler and Sallee into the house, but told them not to cause any problem with the victim.

Marler was given five years in prison for her part in the attack.

In addition, Sallee’s guilty plea covered a drug-related case filed in May of last year. A Mountain Home Police Officer stopped a vehicle being driven by Sallee because he knew she had an outstanding arrest warrant as well as a supended drivers license.

During the stop, the officer reported that he detected the strong odor of marijuana come from the vehicle. Sallee is alleged to have informed the officer that there was marijuana in the car. A smoking pipe with what was described as narcotic residue and a grinder used to break down marijuana for smoking was also found. In addition, three sugar cubes wrapped in foil were found which Sallee said each of the cubes had a “couple of hits” of LSD.
