Swindol enters rehab

     Thomas Swindol of Cleveland, Mississippi, whose vehicle allegedly contained a large cache of drugs and drug paraphernalia, has entered an addiction treatment program, according to his attorney, Norman Wilber.
     Wilber made the announcement during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.The 29-year-old Swindol has pled not guilty to all of the charges.
     The vehicle Swindol was driving was stopped on U.S. Highway 62/412 on February 11thwhen authorities were advised by the 911 center that a report had been made of a vehiclebeing driven in reckless manner on U.S. Highway 62/412. It was reported by witnesses that the vehicle had almost caused a head-on collision.       
     Swindol’s vehicle was pulled over at the intersection of Highway 62/412 and Florence Drive.     
     Officers first noticed what was described as marijuana in the vehicle and, according to court records, it was reported by Swindol that there were other drugs in the car.    
     During asearch of the vehicle, officers found, methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, Suboxone, Xanax Alprazolam, Oxycontin, Ecstasy, Clonazepan and paraphernalia described as related to drug use.
     Swindol was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on February 11th and was released on $50,000 bond late the next day, according to jail information on the sheriff’s website.     
     Wilber told Judge Gordon Webb that his client would be confined to the rehab facility on a fulltime basis for the first 90 days and would remain in the program – living in a halfway house – for another nine months. Swindol was ordered to reappear in Circuit Court June 22nd.
