Vehicle recovered, Peel shooting suspect still at large

     The vehicle used by a man wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting incident in Peel early Tuesday morning has been recovered, but the suspect, John Jeanquart, is still at large, according to the Marion County Sheriff. Sheriff's Investigator Dusty Smith says the Chevy Avalanche Jeanquart drove from the scene of the shooting was found parked near Bull Shoals Lake early Tuesday afternoon.
     Law enforcement officers have been walking the wooded area near the location where the vehicle was found as well as checking boat docks and resorts in the area.
     According to Marion COunty Sheriff Clinton Evans, the apparent shooting occurred during a domestic disturbance which was reported at 3:40 Tuesday morning. The victim, an unidentified 44 year old woman who was taken to a Springfield hospital with non-life threatening injuries, is in stable condition.
     Jeanquart is described as a five foot seven inch Caucasian male weighing approximately 226 pounds. Officials say he is in possession of at least one firearm, a .410 shoutgun, and should be considered armed, dangerous and should not be approached. Authorities believe he may be headed to the Springfield or Kansas City area.
     Anyone with information on the location of Jeanquart's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Marion County Sheriff's office at 870-449-4236. The sheriff reminds the public anyone who knowingly assists Jeanquart in evading or hiding from authorities can face criminal charges.
