SHERRY ELLIS GETS PRISON TIME

    Sherry Ellis, who is currently serving time in the Arkansas Department of Correction on charges from Greene County in northeast Arkansas, was given two years in prison to be followed by two years probation during a session of Baxter County Thursday.

    The 38-year-old Ellis pled guilty to her Baxter County charges which were related to break-ins at two units in a mini-storage units at a storage complex on State Highway 5 South and the theft of property from those units.

    The renter of one of the units called the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office in mid-December last year and reported that her unit had been entered.

    The victim told investigators that she pulled into the storage complex and found the door to her unit open and one female and three males in and around the unit.

    Investigators were able to tie Ellis to the break-in and charges were filed against her, including breaking or entering and theft of property.

    In addition to prison time, Ellis was ordered to pay $1,800 in restitution.

    Ellis is currently an inmate in the Wrightsville unit of the state prison system where she is serving time on the Greene County charges.
