A search for a Baxter County resident led to the arrest of two individuals Wednesday. Thirty-year-old William Joshua Lewis of Gassville and 30-year-old Sarah Marie Lynn of Norfork are both in the Baxter County Detention Center on several charges.
According to Sheriff John Montgomery, investigators were searching for Lewis on an outstanding felony drug warrant. The warrant was obtained by the Norfork Police Department after it discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in a vehicle Lewis was a passenger in during a vehicle stop in Norfork during the past few weeks.
Authorities went to an address in Jordan Monday where they encountered Lynn, and she said Lewis was not at the residence and stated she had not seen him in several weeks. Authorities returned to the address two days later with an officer from the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections, and Lynn again denied Lewis was present. The Community Corrections officer entered the residence on a probation home search and located Lewis in the bathroom allegedly flushing controlled substances down the sink.
As Lewis and Lynn were taken into custody, officers searched the residence and found 15 pills determined to be a combination of acetaminophen and codeine phosphate, a Schedule II controlled substance. Officers also found multiple smoking devices containing methamphetamine residue, multiple butane and propane touches, a used syringe and a nine-millimeter handgun.
Lewis is charged with felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver, three counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons, Weapons Possession During a Controlled Substance Offense, Parole or Probation Violation and a penalty enhancement as a habitual offender. Lynn was booked on a felony count of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver, two felony counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a felony count of Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons, a felony count of Weapons Possession During a Controlled Substance Offense, a felony count of Failure to Appear, two misdemeanor counts of Hindering Apprehension, Prosecution, Conviction or Punishment of Another and a penalty enhancement as a habitual offender.
William Lewis and Sarah Lynn are being held without bond. Both are set to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court August 25th.
