The Baxter County Fair wrapped up its week of activities with what was described as a great turnout. This year's fair saw the attendance number at 22,814.
The fair's activities kicked off last Saturday with the pageant and truck pull. The fair parade was held Wednesday, and board member Jamie Cooley has the results.

In the livestock barn, cattle was down this year, but lamb entries were up. Cooley says the reason the barn might have looked empty is the petting zoo animals were not able to be there. She adds there was a new washing station for the hogs in the barn.

Another key aspect of any fair is the food that can be purchased, and Cooley says this year's selection did not disappoint.

Cooley says the Baxter County Fair Board wanted to thank the more than 200 volunteers for making the week of the fair possible. In addition, the fair included 120 commercial booths.
The profits from the past week will go to the maintenance of the fairgrounds after the bills are paid. Enhancements are also being made on social media, and Cooley encourages local residents to like the Baxter County Fair on Facebook and follow it on Twitter. In addition, the fair's website is baxtercountyfair.org.
