Mtn. Home Chamebr of Commerce to hold annual elections







     On October 14, 2016 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, at El Chico’s Café, the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce will host a special election meeting. All members are asked to stop by and cast your vote for your top six candidates.



     The six candidates with the most votes will join the Chamber Board for 2017 – 2019.

     A light taco bar will be available.



     Each membership is allowed one vote.

     A ballot will be presented to you at the October 14th meeting.



     If you are not able to attend the election meeting, you may reply via email with your six selections. Send your votes to EMajeste@EnjoyMountainHome.com . The email ballots will be given to the CPA firm tallying the votes the day of the election.



     The twelve candidates and their brief bios are listed below.



1. Daniel Weber, Jordan Marina

Dan started coming to the area at the age of 5 years. He graduated Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1990 and worked as a Nuclear Plant Engineer for 10 years. In 2000, he bought Jordan Marina, which he operates today. Dan and his wife Denise have been married for 20 years and have three children: Jordan, Jessica, and Amber. He has been President of the Lake Norfork Chamber for the last 10 years.



2. Jackie Conner, Conner Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center, High Country Motors, High Country Apartments

Jackie Conner and her husband John are the co-owners of three area businesses, Conner Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center, High Country Motors and High Country Apartments. She has also owned two other successful businesses in Mountain Home. She is a Mountain Home native, a business college graduate and is a licensed funeral director. Jackie looks forward to bringing the perspective of the small business owner to the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce.



3. Dr. Jake Long, Superintendent Mountain Home Public Schools

Jake Long, Superintendent of Mountain Home Public Schools since July 2015. Jake has been an educator for 9 years, 6 of them spent in administrative positions in Missouri and Arkansas. He believes high quality schools are vital to the economic success of our community.



4. Chad Huebner, Good Samaritan Society

Chad Huebner is the Campus Administrator for the Good Samaritan Society-Mountain Home. Since relocating here just over nine years ago, Chad has been instrumental in leading a local team of professionals who support a faith based nation Continuum of Care Retirement Community for individuals age 55 and older who support creating an environment where individuals feel loved, valued, and at peace. He continues to support economic development within the community and is excited about the potential for the community in the years ahead. His background includes a degree in Hospitality Management and continues to emphasize his experience on healthcare specific to Senior Living Skilled, Post-acute, and Therapy for Seniors.



5. Kim Crow Sheaner, Baxter County Library

A big city girl with a small town heart, Kim Crow Sheaner moved to Mountain Home in 2004 from Dallas, TX. She is the Director of the Donald W. Reynolds Library serving Baxter County. Kim, her husband Mark, and their 11 year old twins, Jack and Trevi, are a very active Mountain Home family.



6. Rick Garner, Protocol Drug & Alcohol Testing

Rick Garner, born 4/13/1953, originally from Fort Smith, AR. Married Judy Weaver from Muldrow, OK on 11/29/1974. We have one daughter and son-in-law with three grandchildren that live in Mountain Home. Served a 4-year term in the United States Air Force 1971 -1975. Several Careers including: Machinist, Oilfield Roughneck, Welding Supply Store manager, Retirement Industry Sales, Marketing and Management. Currently a private business owner of Protocol Drug and Alcohol Testing in Mountain Home, AR.



7. Paul Gigliotti, Pirate Perry Events

Paul Gigliotti, the owner/operator of Pirate Perry Events, oversees the White River Marathon for Kenya, David’s Trail Endurance Run and other events aiming to bring outside business and tourism into MH and the area. A ten-year resident of MH and career with SEAS; background includes degrees in Hospitality & Communications.



8. Tom Kiley, Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services

Tom Kiley was raised on his family’s dairy farm and graduated with degrees from both College of the Ozarks and ASU-MH. Tom’s a member of First United Methodist Church, Rotary, and Twin Lakes Future Fund Board. He volunteers with the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas and is Co-Chairperson for Bridge Bash.



9.    Heather Loftis, KTLO

After graduating from the University of Central Arkansas, I spent 10 years working in healthcare philanthropy, first for Arkansas Children’s Hospital, then moving back home to be a part of Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation. I joined KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot in 2008 as their Sales Manager.

My husband Chris and I will be opening Bookworms Café at the Library in January 2017. We have two children, Mia and Zane. Other: MH Rotary Club, Board Member, Twin Lakes Community Foundation, Board Member, Arkansas State University Development Council, Past Board Member, Serenity, Inc., Past Board Member, Past Chairman, Donald W Reynolds Library serving Baxter County, Past Board Member, Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce.



10.    Christy Keirn, Director of Communications and Institutional Advancement, ASUMH

Christy Keirn is Director of Communications and Institutional Advancement at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home. In that role, Christy is responsible for oversight of marketing and public relations for the college; community education courses; fundraising; and special events at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center. She serves as a member of the Performing Arts Council and the Higher Learning Commission Steering Committee for ASUMH.



11.    Gregory Wood, Hospice of the Ozarks

Greg serves as the Executive Director for Hospice of the Ozarks. He is a member of the Mountain Home (MH) Rotary Club and also serves on the board of directors for MH Kindness, Inc., and the State of Arkansas Hospice & National Hospice Organizations. Greg is married to Jenny for past 31 years and has two adult sons.



12.    Clint Gaston, Gaston’s White River Resort

If anyone of the members have any questions, I would much prefer to hear from them and address any questions or concerns that they may have. I am not going anywhere, and will continue to be involved locally and statewide.
