
The Jacob Wolf House in Norfork is could have a new owner in the near future. One of the agenda items for Tuesday night’s session of the Baxter County Quorum Court is the possible transfer of ownership of the Wolf House property to the Department of Arkansas Heritage.
Baxter County Judge Mickey Pendergrass says the county has been attempting to find ways of making the Wolf House available to the public as a tourist attraction since before he took office.

Baxter County is currently the owner of the Wolf House, but Pendergrass says it’s been difficult to continue providing the funds to keep up with its maintenance. He adds he’s glad to have the Department of Arkansas Heritage involved in the process.

Pendergrass says he will need the quorum court’s approval to continue negotiations.
Other items on the agenda include an ordinance appropriating fees and reimbursements received during August to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office 2016 budget, an ordinance appropriating nearly $10,000 from the sale of materials to the road and bridge budget, a resolution confirming the appointment of Bobbi Brown to the Baxter County Library Board of Commissioners and a resolution confirming the re-appointments of J.B. Dewey and Keven Bodenhamer to the Mountain Home Rural Fire Protection District Board of Commissioners.
The meeting will be Tuesday evening at six in the second floor courtroom of the Baxter County Courthouse.
