
Arkansas residents who plan to vote in the November election, but are not yet registered to vote have until Monday to do so, according to Baxter County Clerk Canda Reese. She says this applies to anyone who has over the age of 18 who has never voted and those who voted in another state but are now residents of Arkansas. Voter registration takes place at the county courthouse, says Reese, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

She says although no identification is required to register to vote in Arkansas, the process is easier if people registering bring some documentation their current address.

Voters who did not have documentation at the time of registration, may be required to present an ID when voting on November 8.

Anyone currently registered to vote in Arkansas who has moved within the state or within the county must also register those changes with the county clerk.

The office of the Baxter County Clerk is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Early voting in Arkansas begins Monday, October 24th and runs through Monday, November 7 at 5 p.m. Early voting in Baxter County may be done at the county clerk’s office from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and Saturday’s from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early voting will also take place at Twin Lakes Plaza with hours to be announced.
