Jonesboro boys win state golf title at Big Creek

The Jonesboro boys' golf team was able to capture its seventh-consecutive state championship Tuesday at Big Creek Golf and Country Club. The Golden Hurricane won the Class 6A State Tournament with a two-day total of 588. Greenwood finished second at 644.

Wil Gibson of Jonesboro was the individual medalist with a six-under-par 138 for the two days. Gibson beat out teammate Chandler Copeland and Greenwood's Evan Griffith who were tied for second at nine strokes backs.

Mountain Home had two golfers competing on the final day of the tournament. Gage McClain ended up in a three-way tie for 22nd place, and Landon Crider was 25th.
