The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent suicide at a residence in rural Norfork. According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, the incident occurred Friday on Grey Wolf Trail.
Deputies were dispatched to the residence around one p.m. after the caller received a phone call indicating the owner was going to harm himself. When they arrived nearly a half hour later, they found the victim deceased in an unlocked outbuilding near the residence with an apparent self-inflicted knife wound. A note was later discovered in the house, and it appeared to be written by the owner.
The body was sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock for an autopsy to confirm the cause and manner of death. The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Arkansas State Police and the Baxter County Coroner’s Office.
