Courtesy Grosset & DunlapDolly Parton already has a hit song, a hit movie and its forthcoming sequel in her arsenal of ideas inspired by her childhood tale of “Coat of Many Colors.”  Tuesday, she’ll add one more thing to the list — a new children’s book.

Targeted specifically to young readers, Coat of Many Colors features all-new illustrations, as well as an all-new song by Dolly. You’ll be able to download “Making Fun Ain’t Funny” by purchasing the book.

The project is an extension of the superstar’s passion to inspire children to read. Since founding The Imagination Library in 1988, Dolly has helped distribute more than 80 million books to kids around the world, all inspired by the fact that her father couldn’t read or write.

You can learn more about the Parton family when the sequel to last year’s successful Coat of Many Colors movie airs this holiday season. Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love is set to premiere November 30 on NBC.
