     One week before the November 8 General election, high numbers of registered voters continue to take advantage of early voting in Arkansas. Baxter County Clerk Canda Reese says 900 voters cast early ballots Tuesday bringing the total of early votes cast to just over 6,900, or 24 percent of registered voters in Baxter County.

     In Marion County 23 percent or 2,312 registered voters have cast early ballots, according to Dawn Moffit. Izard County had 137 early votes cast Tuesday, bringing their total of early ballots to 1,059.

     Early voting in the state ends Monday at 5 p.m. In Baxter County, early voting is at the courthouse Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at Twin Lakes Plaza Monday through Friday from 10 am. to 4 p.m. Marion County and Fulton County voters can cast their ballots during the early voting period at their county courthouses Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Izard County voters can vote early at Ozarka College in Melbourne Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Early voting will also take place in Horseshoe Bend on Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
