Eagle Rock EntertainmentOn New Year’s Eve 2015, Mötley Crüe bid their fans farewell with an emotional and epic hometown concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles that brought the glam-metal band’s two-year Final Tour to a close. Now, a home video and album package documenting the historic show called The End: Live in Los Angeles gets released today as DVD/CD and Blu-ray/CD sets, as well as digitally.
At the concert, the band played such classic songs as “Kickstart My Heart,” “Girls, Girls, Girls” and “Dr. Feelgood, as well as a medley combining covers of Gary Glitter‘s “Rock N Roll Part II” and Brownsville Station‘s “Smokin’ in the Boys Room.” Of course, the show also featured plenty of the over-the-top pyrotechnics and special effects for which Mötley Crüe was famous, including Nikki Sixx‘s bass spitting fire more than 30 feet into the air and Tommy Lee‘s “Crüecifly” drum roller coaster.
In addition, Mötley Crüe rang in 2016 during the concert, as thousands of balloons were dropped from the Staples Center rafters. To bring the show to a close, the band members gathered on a stage riser in the center of the venue and played their classic ballad “Home Sweet Home.”
The new concert video also contains a number of bonus features, including interviews with Sixx, Lee, singer Vince Neil and guitarist Mick Mars.
