Representatives from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department were in Mountain Home Thursday to announce a truck will be available in Baxter County to help with emergencies that occur on local roads during the winter. Steve Lawrence, District Engineer from District 9 in Harrison says the small truck from the Yellville office has been outfitted with a snow plow and salt spreader. It will be kept in Mountain Home at their location of State Highway 5 south to be dispatched when needed.

Lawrence says the availability of this truck is in answer to address problems, like one that occurred last winter on State Highway 5 of Mountain Home.
