With above normal temperatures in October and so far in November, the Twin Lakes Area is yet to experience its first official frost of the season. Although some area residents reported frost Thursday morning, when temperatures reached an official low of 35 degrees at the KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot studios, the official reporting station in Mountain Home for the National Weather Service, Lance Pyle, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service in North Little Rock, says the first wide spread frost could come Saturday night.

Record wise, the latest frost of the season occurred last year on November 22, according to Pyle. He says the average first frost in the Twin Lakes Area occurs on October 17 and the earliest frost on recorded in the region was September 12, 1940.
