A Mountain Home man, 27-year-old Taylor Daniel George, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on felony theft charges and a parole violation after he stole a motor vehicle from 71 Bayside Terrace in the rural Mountain Home area. According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, the owner of the vehicle reported to the Sheriffs Office that her black 2010 Mazda 6 was stolen from the driveway of a residence at approximately 1:15 in the afternoon. Sheriffs dispatchers broadcast a description of the stolen vehicle. A short time later, an Arkansas State Trooper found it in the same area of the county and arrested George, who is currently on parole from the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
The vehicle, valued at approximately $9,000, was returned to the owner, while George was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center. He is being held on a bond of $7,500 on the vehicle theft charge and a no bond hold on the parole violation. He is expected to appear in Baxter COunty Circuit Court next Friday.
