
Cotter’s girls were able to win their opener in the North Arkansas College Senior Boys and Girls Tournament at Harrison as they beat up on Kingston 69-41. Macie Clawson was the Lady Warriors’ leading scorer with 15 points, Makayla Bramblett ended up with 14, and Alexa Wooten added ten. Cotter will face Norfork Wednesday in the quarterfinals.
The Flippin boys topped Lead Hill 48-30. Dustin Balentine led the way for the Bobcats with 14 points and Tanner Theobald added 10 as they improve to 6-11 on the season.
Flippin won the junior boy’s game 49-14. Lance May had 15 points for Flippin.
Yellville-Summit was able to come away with three wins over Green Forest.
The Panthers invoked the mercy rule in the senior boys’ game as they routed the Tigers 59-28. Lee Davenport paced Yellville-Summit with 12 points, Jacob Gentry scored 11, and J.T. Frazier chipped in ten.
Yellville-Summit also took the senior girls’ contest over Green Forest 52-32. The Lady Panthers were led by Justina Jenkins with 14 points.
The night began with Yellville-Summit squeaking by Green Forest in the junior girls’ game 22-20. Avery Dearmore was the Junior Lady Panthers’ top scorer with ten points.
Mammoth Spring’s high school teams came away with a split at home against Dora.
The boys’ game ended with the Bears topping the Falcons 44-34. Logan Skaggs led Mammoth Spring with 14 points, and Brett Mayfield had 11. The Bears improve to 14-6 on the season.
Mammoth Spring did not fare as well in the girls’ game as they fell to Dora 54-53. The Lady Bears were led by Terra Godwin with 19 points, and Brianna Hocum ended up with 15. Mammoth Spring drops to 8-11 overall.
Mammoth Spring returns to district play on Friday as they head to Brockwell to face Izard County.
