Approximately 42 of 65 students from Pinkston Middle School, Mountain Home Junior High and Mountain Home High School Students qualified in all region tryouts Saturday in Bentonville. According to Band Director Tom Chetnik, there were more than 1,000 students participating in the tryouts from the entire North Western region.
The tryout consists of a competitive audition of prepared music, major and minor scales and sight reading music the students hadn’t seen before.
Chetnik says 25 students from the Mountain Home Junior High qualified.

Eight of the Mountain Home High School students qualified for the all state round in February to be held at Arkansas Tech University.

Chetnik says calendars should be marked for Thursday, April 20th for the Moanin’ Frogs saxophone ensemble to perform in the evening at Dunbar Auditorium. Tickets will go on sale in March.
