Yellville-Summit picked up one win as they played Bergman Tuesday in three battles between Panthers.

The senior boys’ game ended with Yellville-Summit defeating Bergman 54-38. Lee Davenport led Yellville-Summit with 16 points, and Nash Dowden added ten.

Yellville-Summit did not fare as well in the senior girls’ contest as they fell to Bergman 46-36.

The night began with Yellville-Summit losing a junior high game to Bergman 40-10.



Viola was swept in three games at home by Izard County.

In the senior boys’ game, the Longhorns lost to the Cougars 63-35. Izard County was led by Tanner Brooks with 18 points, Justus Cooper scored 17, and Taylor Reynolds and Cole Wallis had ten each. The Cougars improve to 20-8 on the season, and they remain unbeaten in nine games in the 2A/1A-3.

The senior girls’ contest also went to Izard County as they posted the 68-32 decision over Viola. Sam King was the Lady Cougars’ top scorer with 17 points, and Jen King and Natalie Everett finished with 11 each. Izard County is now 18-4 on the year and 7-2 in district play.

The junior boys’ game was the first game of the evening as Viola fell to Izard County 47-33. Caleb Faulkner paced the Junior Cougars with 15 points. Izard County improves to 11-3 overall and 6-0 in the 2A/1A-3.



Mammoth Spring’s high school teams swept a pair of district games at Calico Rock.

The Bears took the boys’ game over the Pirates 64-35. Mammoth Spring was led by Logan Skaggs with 20 points, and Len Powell chipped in ten. Mammoth Spring is 15-6 on the season and 5-2 in the 2A/1A-3.

Mammoth Spring also won the girls’ contest over Calico Rock 67-55. Terra Godwin was the Lady Bears’ leading scorer with 22 points, Brianna Hocum scored 17, and Stephine Henry ended up with 11. Mammoth Spring improves to 10-11 on the year and 3-5 in the district.

Mammoth Spring continues 2A/1A-3 action Friday as they host Salem.
