The Norfork High School basketball teams ended up splitting with Mammoth Spring on Tuesday.

The Lady Panthers took the girls’ game over the Lady Bears 85-29. Norfork remains unbeaten in the 2A/1A-3.

Norfork did not fare as well in the boys’ contest as they fell to Mammoth Spring 56-44. Baylee Mills led the Bears with 18 points, and Len Powell added 11. Mammoth Spring improves to 17-6 on the season and 7-2 in district play.

Mammoth Spring will hit the road Friday as they face Viola.



Flippin’s high school teams were swept by Izard County at Brockwell.

The boys’ game ended with the Bobcats losing to the Cougars 68-39. Izard County was led by Justus Cooper with 24 points, Taylor Reynolds scored 12, Tanner Brooks had 11, and Dallas Farmer chipped in ten. The Cougars are now 22-8 on the year and 11-0 in the 2A/1A-3.

Flippin also lost the girls’ game to Izard County 48-18. Kennedy Cooper returned to the lineup after suffering a broken hand in December, and she was the Lady Cougars’ top scorer with 18 points. In addition, Jen King finished with ten points. Izard County stands at 20-4 overall and 9-2 in the district.



Yellville-Summit’s boys went on the road and picked up a 43-39 victory over Marshall. J.T. Frazier paced the Panthers with 12 points.



Mountain Home Christian Academy came away with a split as they hosted Lebanon.

In the varsity game, the Eagles fell to the Rockets 60-56. Mountain Home Christian was led by Bradley Taylor with 22 points, and Cooper Long added 11.

It was a different result in the junior varsity game as Mountain Home Christian routed Lebanon 47-6. Stone Robinson was the J.V. Eagles’ leading scorer with 11 points.
