The Izard County junior boys' basketball team was looking to leave Hillcrest Elementary School Saturday with the championship trophy of the Screamin' Eagle Tournament, but they came up short in overtime. The Junior Cougars fell to the host team in Lynn by a final of 54-47. Coby Everett led Izard County with 21 points, and Caleb Faulkner added 18. The Junior Cougars drop to 15-4 on the season.
Mountain Home's seventh grade boys grabbed a pair of tournament wins at Cave City.
The Seventh Grade Bombers began the day by defeating Highland 35-21. Mountain Home was led by Jackson Foster with 12 points, and Isaac House chipped in ten.
The Seventh Grade Bombers followed up with a 25-19 victory over Pocahontas.
Mountain Home's next game will be Monday in the Hangar as they face Bergman.
