
The Mountain Home High School basketball teams swept both of the their games at home Tuesday night against Searcy.
The Bombers had a big run to defeat the Lions 51-42. Searcy led 14-7 in the first quarter but the Bombers went on a 36-15 run to open a 14 point lead by the end of the third quarter and held on to win by nine.
Luke Kruse erupted for 14 of his game high 18 points in the third quarter and Mitchell McDonald added 16 as the Bombers improve to 7-12 overall and 3-3 in the 6A/5A-2 District.
Searcy got 17 points from Malik Branch as they fall to 7-13 and 1-5.
In the girl’s game, Mountain Home took over sole possession of first place in the district with a 44-28 win. It’s the fourth game the Lady Bombers have held an opponnent to 30 or fewer points. Mountain Home opened the game with a 28-7 run to take control early.
Hannah Pfiefer led the attack with 11 points while Maly Tabor added 10. The Lady Bombers improve to 12-8 overall and 5-1 in district play.
Searcy falls to 6-14 and 0-6.
