Paul Natkin/WireImageThe Bee Gees will be the subject of this year’s all-star Grammy tribute concert, which will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles in Tuesday, February 14, two days after the Grammy Awards. The event, Stayin’ Alive: A Grammy Salute to the Music of The Bee Gees, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, and will feature a special performance by the legendary group’s sole surviving member, Barry Gibb, along with a variety of other popular artists.
Gibb will be performing a number of songs from the classic soundtrack, which won the Album of the Year Grammy in 1978. The Bee Gees wrote and produced five new original songs for the album, all of which became massive hits, including “How Deep Is Your Love,” “Stayin’ Alive,” “Night Fever,” “More than a Woman” and “If I Can’t Have You.”
The concert’s lineup also will feature performances by Celine Dion, John Legend, Keith Urban, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Andra Day, DNCE, Tori Kelly, Little Big Town and Pentatonix. Additional artists will be announced soon. The event will be taped for a special that will air on CBS later this year.
“The Bee Gees created many of pop music’s most memorable anthems and to be able to gather some of music’s brightest lights together to salute this great legacy is very exciting to me,” says Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich. “Presenting new versions of these great songs promises an evening of true highlights, both for the artists themselves and millions of music fans.”
The Bee Gees have sold more than 200 million records worldwide, and won five Grammys. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
