The Mountain Home High School basketball teams earned a split at home Friday night against Batesville. Brad Haworth has the details.

The Mountain Home boys cruised to a 65-35 win. The Bombers raced out to an 18-5 early and were never challenged. It was 27-14 at halftime and the Bombers led by 26 heading into the final period.
Garrett Dietsche led the Mountain Home attack with 24 points while Luke Kruse added 11. The Bombers improve to 8-12 overall and 4-3 in the 6A/5A-2 District.
Batesville, who falls to 2-15 and 0-6, got 10 points each from Tanner Vinson and Taylor Ford.
In the girl’s game, Batesville dominated Mountain Home 51-38. The Lady Pioneers did a great job of shutting down Mountain Home’s top two scorers, holding Hannah Pfiefer to three points and Vinessa Daniel to two points. Mountain Home struggled shooting the ball, going 5:42 to start the game without scoring and then another 4:36 before their next points. By halftime, Batesville led 26-11.
Maly Tabor led the Mountain Home scoring with 11 points as the Lady Bombers fall to 12-9 overall and 5-2 in league play.
Batesville got 18 points from Hannah Qualls as they improve to 17-4 and 5-1.
The Mountain Home teams will travel to Vilonia Tuesday night.
