The case of Donella Pace of Gassville, charged with stealing more than $300,000 from her long-time employer, is close to settlement, according to an announcement made in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday by Pace’s attorney, Paul Bayless.
She was charged after Mountain Home Police launched an investigation into the alleged theft in May last year when the owner of a local pharmacy reported that the 47-year-old Pace, who had worked for the business for 21 years, had been falsifying documents and time sheets since she assumed the position of office manager.
According to court records, Pace admitted to investigators that she had used the stolen funds to pay charges on a personal credit card. Investigators checked back from the beginning of February 2015 until May of last year when Pace was fired from her job and discovered that during that period, slightly more than $300,000 had been paid to one credit card company alone.
Pace was ordered by Judge Gordon Webb to reappear February 23rd.
