(AP) – State highway officials say construction work on
Interstate 49 will cause overnight lane closures in Bentonville beginning next
week.
The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says the lane
closures begin Tuesday night and will continue through the morning of Feb. 8.
Officials with the agency say crews will begin placing a barrier wall along
the inside lane of northbound Interstate 49 beginning Tuesday evening.
The project is part of the agency’s Connecting Arkansas Program, which
includes widening more than three miles of the interstate to three lanes in each
direction.
Work on the near-$28 million project is expected to be finished late this
year.
