
In high school basketball Monday night, the Gainesville girls opened play in the Lady Tiger Invitational Tournament in Seymour with a 61-30 win over the Logan-Rogersville J.V. team. The Lady Bulldogs improve to 21-1 on the season.
The Bakersfield girls picked up a 47-13 win over Summersville. The Lady Lions up their record to 6-11.
In junior high hoops, Mountain Home sent girl’s teams to Harrison. The Junior Lady Bombers defeated Harrison 18-17 for their third win over the Junior Lady Goblins this season.
The Junior Lady Bombers will travel back to Harrison Thursday to face Farmington in the Northwest Arkansas Classic.
Mountain Home hosted Harrison for boy’s action. In the 7th grade game, Mountain Home topped Harrison 33-28 to improve to 15-6 on the season.
The 3A-1 East Conference Tournament got started at Yellville-Summit. The host Junior Lady Panthers lost to Mountain View 42-26. Leah Still led the Junior Lady Panthers with 17 points.
In the other girl’s game, Bergman topped Marshall 38-29.
In boy’s action, Marshall defeated the host Junior Panthers 64-37 and Bergman defeated Mountain View 69-29.
Izard County is hosting the 2A/1A-3 District Tournament. In boy’s games, Viola edged Flippin 35-31. Gage Harris scored 24 points for the Junior Longhorns. For Flippin, Brycen Baker had 11 points and Lance May added 10.
In the other boy’s game, Mammoth Spring topped Calico Rock 35-25. Daniel Mayfield scored 15 for the Junior Bears while Joe Grigg had 11 for the Junior Pirates.
In girl’s action, the Norfork junior girls slipped past Salem 28-26 and Calico Rock whipped Mammoth Spring 38-13.
The 1A-1 East District Tournament got started at Western Grove. In girl’s action Deer defeated Bruno-Pyatt 28-22 and St. Joe won over Mount Judea 35-16.
On the boy’s side, Bruno-Pyatt crushed Mount Judea 56-32 and Deer got past St. Joe 35-17.
