Pot smoking man arrested in court; man arrested while visiting jail

     Two Lawrence County men were arrested in Izard County on charges, according to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence.

     Twenty-five year old Corey Austin Mayes of Black Rock was arrested Wednesday when he appeared in circuit court with the strong odor of marijuana. When confronted by an Izard County deputy, Mayes admitted to smoking marijuana earlier and a smoking device was found in his pocket. Mayes was arrested and transported to the Izard County jail until his court appearance the following day.

     Sixty one year old Jimmy Ray Miller of Ravenden was arrested Sunday when he came to visit an inmate at the Izard County jail and it was discovered he was wanted on a Sharp County warrant. Miller was released from the Izard County jail after posting $1,098 bond.
