A Mountain Home man, 41-year-old Joseph Allen Bermingham, was arrested Wednesday by the Mountain Home Police Department on numerous felony charges including four counts of forgery, possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and four counts of theft by receiving. The arrest comes after an investigation of a report of a lost or stolen wallet on Thursday, February second.      According to Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manual, the department received a report that a man had lost his wallet at a local business during the afternoon of February second. The victim learned later that day, his debit card and two credit cards were used to make several local purchases.
An investigator viewed several videos of the suspect making purchases using the stolen cards. He was also viewed on video taking the wallet that was accidentally left at the local business on a chair. Bermingham allegedly purchased merchandise totaling just over $516 at four different locations. After the victim canceled the stolen cards, Bermingham was denied a purchase of around $200 at one of the original four locations he made a purchase.
Once he was identified, officers located and arrested him at his residence in Cotter. During his arrest, officers located the purchased items, one of the stolen cards, a substance believed to be methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
