A Caulfield man, 21-year-old Joseph Alexander Waugh, was arrested following a traffic stop on Buford Road Thursday morning. Waugh was arrested on multiple felony charges including revocation of a bench warrant, criminal use of a prohibited weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $7,500 with a no hold bond on the revocation warrant.
According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, at 1:13 Thursday morning a Sheriff's Deputy pulled Waugh over on a traffic infraction at 4372 Buford Road. When the deputy made contact with Waugh he said he didn't have a driver's license and gave a false name. Waugh's true identity was eventually discovered and he was found to have a felony bench warrant out of Baxter County Circuit Court for revocation of a suspended sentence.
When the deputy tried to place Waugh under arrest he resisted, so the officer had to use pepper spray. During a search of the vehicle a pair of brass knuckles, a digital scale and syringes were found along with a computer allegedly belonging to Walmart.
In addition to the felony charges Waugh was charged eight other misdemeanors. He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on February 23rd.
