
THIBODAUX, La. (AP) _ Stevie Repichowski led five players in double figures
with 22 points on 6-for-9 shooting from 3-point range and Nicholls State led for all
of overtime in a 96-89 win against Central Arkansas Thursday night.
With six seconds left at the end of regulation, and a 79-77 lead, Central
Arkansas’ Jordan Howard made 1 of 2 free throws to keep Nicholls alive. The
Colonels rebounded Howard’s miss and Jahvaughn Powell buried a 3-pointer at the
buzzer.
Repichowski’s 3-pointer 17 seconds into the extra session put Nicholls (12-14,
5-8 Southland) on top 83-80.
For the Colonels, Liam Thomas and Ja’Dante’ Frye each scored 18 points,
collecting nine and five rebounds, respectively. Jahvaughn Powell scored 16
points, passed out 13 assists, and grabbed seven rebounds. Jonathan Bell scored
15 points and dealt seven assists and had five rebounds.
Derreck Brooks led Central Arkansas (8-19, 7-7) with 25 points, Howard had 22,
Thatch Unruh scored 12, and Darraja Parnell and Tanner Schmit each scored 10.
Unruh grabbed 11 rebounds.
