A Mountain View woman, 34-year-old Kristen Danette Walls was arrested Sunday after she led Stone County Deputies on a chase with a 10-year-old child in the car. She was eventually stopped and arrested on multiple charges including aggravated assault, fleeing and endangering the welfare of a minor. She is being held without bond in the Stone County Jail pending a criminal investigation.
According to KAIT in Jonesboro Sheriff Lance Bond says Stone County deputies got a call from Cleburne County authorities who had been trying to pull Walls over after a traffic violation. The pursuit went into Stone County on Highway Five, where at on point, Walls allegedly tried to hit a deputy's car head on. The deputy was narrowly able to avoid a collision.
Authorities put out spike strips on the highway, near Mountain View, which blew out two tires. She later hit a second strip in Mountain View and blew out the other two tires. She continued to run and wound up in a KFC/Taco Bell parking lot. She apparently rammed several patrol units and destroying property at the location before eventually driving over a retaining wall and back onto Highway Five.
She was eventually captured at a nearby house and placed under arrest. She also faces several traffic violations.
The child was not injured and was turned over to a family member.
