High school basketball makes up the local Wednesday schedule as regional tournament play begins in Arkansas.
The Class 1A Region 2 Tournament will be held at the Harold Ray Jeffrey Gymnasium in Calico Rock. In girls’ action, the host Lady Pirates tip off at four p.m. against Bay, and Norfork meets Armorel at 7:00. On the boys’ side, Norfork faces Bay at 5:30, and Izard County takes on Armorel at 8:30.
The Class 3A Region 3 Tournament gets underway at Riverside High School in Lake City. On the girls’ bracket, Mountain View gets underway at 4:00 against Corning, and Bergman plays Osceola at 7:00. Yellville-Summit’s boys will be paired with the host Rebels at 5:30.
The Salem girls will play the opening game of the Class 2A North Regional Tournament at Carlisle. The Lady Greyhounds meet Brinkley at 4:00.
Omaha will be the site for the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament as Lead Hill plays a doubleheader against Jasper. The girls’ game is scheduled for 7:00 followed by the boys’ contest at 8:30.
