The Baxter county Historical and genealogical Society will meet Tuesday evening at 6 in the Knox Room of the Donald W. Reynolds Library in Mountain Home. Robert Nelson, a fourth generation native of the Mountain Home area will make a presentation entitled “You CAN Go Home Again”.
A graduate of Mountain Home High School Class of 1960, Nelson received a bachelor degree in music from Arkansas Tech and taught at Searcy Junior High before becoming the band director in Mountain Home. Following his retirement from teaching in 2002, he served on the board of the Mountain Home Education Foundation, the Mountain Home School Board and is an active member of the Baxter county Retired Teachers Association and the Bomber Alumni House board of directors.
Non-members are welcome to attend this free event.
