Twin Lakes Area residents should not be alarmed about heavy smoke in around Lake Norfork Wednesday afternoon. One burn is in the Clarkridge Area at Chapin Point, where the Army Corps of Engineers is burning 1,100 acres. The other is in the 2300 block of Jordan Road, where the burn is being conducted by the Norfork Fire Department.
Baxter County Office of Emergency Management Director Jim Sierzhula says the county is not under a burn ban at this time, and although there was rain this week, conditions are still dry and area residents need to exercise caution when burning.
