Danielle Wilkinson of Gassville was sentenced to six months in one of the Community Corrections Centers in the state to be followed by eight years probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
The 38-year-old Wilkinson had earlier entered a guilty plea to the court on drug related charges filed against her and Thursday had been set aside for a hearing to determine her sentence.
Wilkinson was accused of selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant on more than one occasion beginning just before Christmas 2015 and continuing into January 2016. The buys ranged from $100 up to $1,000.
The confidential informant was fitted with a small audio recorder/transmitter and furnished with "drug buy funds" to be used by the informant in making the transactions with Wilkinson.
In sentencing Wilkinson, Judge John Putman said he was torn about the case as he made the sentencing decision, but said because of the "significant" sales made to the confidential informant, he felt that Wilkinson needed to be sent through the therapeutic program in one of the state's Community Corrections Centers.
