It was a historic weekend for the Mountain Home school bands who traveled to Bentonville for the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association Region 6 concert and sight reading assessment. Band Director Tom Chentnik says this was the first time in the 67 year history of the band program at Mountain Home schools that the 8th, 9th and high school bands won sweepstakes awards in the same year.

The 9th grade band, under the direction of Brandon Tetrick, received two superior first division ratings and one excellent second division rating on their prepared selection, says Chentnik.

Chentnik says the Moaning Frogs Saxophone Ensemble will perform in concert Thursday, April 20 at 7 p.m. at Dunbar Auditorium. He says they are a saxophone version of the Dallas Brass who frequently come to Mountain Home.
