
It was a rough opening day for the Mountain Home High School softball team at McClain Park as they were swept in a varsity doubleheader by Vilonia.
The first game ended with the Lady Bombers falling to the Lady Eagles 14-3. Mountain Home was led by Grace Gilbert with two hits and an RBI, Sydnie Zimmer provided two hits, and Alayna Rohde added a hit and drove in a run.
The Lady Bombers did not fare any better in the second game as they lost to Vilonia 22-4. Morgan Pierski had a two-run home run for Mountain Home, Chassie Whitlow finished with a hit, and Rohde and Zimmer each added an RBI.
The Lady Bombers will go to Harrison Friday as they meet Nemo Vista in the Ozark Softball Classic.
