Anthony Dechow of Mountain Home was given three years in prison after admitting in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday he had stolen firearms from the residence of a close family relative and pawned the guns.
The theft was reported in late February. The relatives had been out of town and suspected that Dechow might have entered their home and taken a number of items, including the firearms.
In checking with local pawnshops, investigators learned that the 24-year-old Dechow had pawned the items reported stolen from his realtives’ residence, and he was arrested. Dechow reportedly told investigators he used the money he obtained for the stolen property to purchase drugs.
In addition to prison time, DeChow was ordered to pay almost $2,700 in restitution. At the time of the late February incident, Dechow was a felon and on active probation from an earlier case.
