NEWS 4-21-17 Marion County rabies clinics benefitting 4-H   KH

The first of four rabies clinics in Marion County is set for Saturday with a portion of the vaccinations benefitting 4-H.

The locations and hours Saturday morning are Svenson Apple Barn at 9, Caney Fire Department at 10:30, and Bruno First Baptist Church at 11:30. Locations and hours in the afternoon are Pyatt Post Office at 12:30 and George’s Creek at 1:30.

The clinic is in partnership with veterinarians Gary Ponder, Robyn Theobald and Sarah Bailey, with the price of vaccinations $9 per cat or dog. Canine and feline distemper paravovirus vaccines also available. For every rabies vaccine administered, a 50 cent donation will be given to Marion County 4-H.

Participants are not required to reside in Marion County.

The Marion County 4-H is hosting a rabies clinic Saturday morning at two locations in Marion County. The clinic, in partnership with veterinarians Dr. Gary Ponder, Dr. Robyn Theobald and Dr. Sarah Bailey, will offer rabies vaccinations at $9 per cat or dog. Canine and feline distemper and paravovirus vaccines will also be available.
The locations and hours this Saturday are: Fairview Fire Department at 9 a.m. and the Flippin High School parking lot at 10:30.
Arkansas State law requires all dogs and cats be vaccinated for rabies each year. These vaccines safeguard not only pets, but also their human family members and the community from rabies.
Marion County 4-H will receive a 50 cent donation from each vaccine to fund local youth projects and activities.
