Baseball and softball make up the local Wednesday schedule.
Two local baseball teams will begin action in the Class 1A State Tournament. Mammoth Spring meets Mount Vernon-Enola at noon on the campus of Woodlawn High School in Rison, and Viola faces Hermitage at 2:30 at Taylor Field in Pine Bluff.
In other high school baseball, Gainesville travels to Conway.
Three area softball teams will be at Pine Bluff Regional Park for the start of the Class 1A State Tournament. Viola plays the first game on Field 4 at noon against Mount Vernon-Enola. On Field 1, Rural Special takes on Acorn at noon, and Izard County will be paired with Hampton at 2:30.
