Captain Spalding promotes Salvation Army week in a unique way

This week is Salvation Army week and Captain Jay Spalding, of the local Salvation Army unit, says one of the highlights will be a customer appreciation day Saturday at the Thrift Store. Spalding is anxious to give back to supporters of the organization and has come up with a unique idea to increase awareness of the Salvation Army’s services.

Spalding borrowed his friend’s idea and took his flag to the square at noon Thursday to enjoy the outside and talk to people as he walked around. His intention is to open up dialog concerning the Salvation Army and what the organization does.
