Johnson Selected as 2017 Mark Green Scholar

Mitchell’s Park Street Pharmacy in Calico Rock recently announced Hunter Johnson is the recipient of the 2017 Mark Green Excellence in Education Scholarship.The $500 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Calico Rock High School that demonstrates excellence in academics and community service. Financial need is not a factor in the decision. The scholarship program began in 2000 to honor retired educator, Mark Green.

Hunter Johnson is the Valedictorian of his graduating class and will be attending Arkansas Tech University in Russellville majoring in Business and Engineering. Hunter is the son of Lorne and Katy Johnson of Gorby. He has been active in numerous student organizations and is a recognized athlete in Pirate Basketball, Pirate Baseball, golf and trap. He served as president of FBLA, Senior Beta, and of the Senior class. He has also volunteered for tornado relief projects, and is an active member of the Pineville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
