Baxter County Sheriff’s Office reports calm holiday weekend

The Memorial Day holiday weekend was relatively calm according to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff John Montgomery says there were a total of 100 complaint calls or calls for service made to the Sheriff’s Office from Friday to Monday.

Among the 21 bookings into the Baxter County Detention Center, three were driving while intoxicated, one was for boating while intoxicated, four were for possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia, and seven warrants were served. In addition, the sheriff’s deputies issued 17 citations for traffic violations or misdemeanors and 25 warnings for traffic violations.

Sheriff Montgomery also says there weren’t any serious holiday-related incidents reported in the unincorporated areas of Baxter County.
