Big Mill Bluegrass Band is this weeks headliner for the fifth series of Mountain Home’s Friday Night Block Party on the Square. The show is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 Friday evening. Holy Smokes will be serving barbecue. This weeks sponsor is Creekside Rehab.According to Event Coordinator Ron Shire, coming together in 2011, Big Mill’s musicians hail from all over the Ozark Mountain region of Missouri and Arkansas and bring with them many years of playing experience.
Driving bluegrass is the norm from influences like Bill Monroe, The Stanleys, and Jimmy Martin. Influencial bands include Country Gentlemen and Lost and Found.
Members are John Taylor on the guitar and vocals, Bill Gage playing fiddle and singing vocals, Randy Odell on the banjo, Darren Osborne on mandolin and vocals and Lyn Baker on bass.
The Friday Night Block Party will go through the second Friday of September. The family friendly event will have vendors, food, crafts and prizes.
