Three water associations that are customers of the Ozark Mountain Regional Public Water Authority have had boil orders lifted however, four associations remain on the Arkansas Health Department’s list of boil water orders. The boil order for the authority was lifted Friday. The boil orders are a result of a major line break, placing the customers on the health department list on June 14 and 15.

The water associations with boil orders lifted are East Newton County,
St. Joe/Pindall/Gilbert and and Western Grove.

The water associations still under boil orders Thursday morning are Deer, Mockingbird Hill, Mt. Sherman and Nail-Swain.

The associations are in portions of Boone, Marion, Newton, and Searcy counties and purchase water from the Ozark Mountain Regional Public Water Authority. They are required to have their water tested by the health department as well.

All customers served by these associations are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption. Water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes should be heated to a rolling boil for one minute prior to use. Ice cubes formed in the time period for which the boil notice is in effect should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.

The boil orders will remain in effect until samples sent to the Arkansas Health Department receive clearance.
